  1. Navigate to your desired project or issue.

  2. Click the Chat option to open a dedicated chat window for that specific project or issue.

  3. Start collaborating effortlessly with your team in the dedicated chat window.

Step 3: Real-time Updates: Edit & Delete Messages with Ease When using the chat feature, you have the power to edit or delete your messages effortlessly. Simply click on the three dots icon next to the profile name for these options.

Step 4: Chat to Action: Hassle-free & Instant Issue Creation Take your productivity to the next level by creating issues directly from chat messages. Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the three dots icon next to the profile name.

  2. Choose the third option that appears, which is Create issue from this comment (located below the edit and delete message options).

  3. A pop-up window will appear, allowing you to input the Project key, Issue type, a brief Summary, and a Description.

  4. Once you've filled in the necessary fields, click the "Create" button to save it as an issue.

Step 5: Total Project Control: Manage Teams Effortlessly With Chat for Jira, you gain total control over your teams and their interactions using Chat settings within Jira:

  • Select the groups and roles which members will have access to chats.

  • By default, all groups and project roles are allowed, providing access to all users, regardless of selected project roles or groups.

  • If both groups and project roles are selected, only users belonging to selected items will have access.

  • Users must also match browse project permissions and security scheme requirements to access project or issue chats.
